Limited battery so have to be quick. Our destination was at the foot of Lake Pukaki where sometimes - only sometimes, the great majesty of Mt Cook is viewed.
Not tonight.
But where we camped in a Free Camping Zone - everyone else set up - mostly tourists of course. And at 8pm a car pulled up and about 8 people rushed out and climbed this small hill in front of us! I recognised it for an Asian publicity shot. The lady had a huge dress that she positioned on the ground and the guy stood as you can see. The photographers all shot quickly, jumped into their car and disappeared within 15 mins!
Three good things:
1. A huge bus called ‘Flying Kiwi’ pulled up next to us and they all climbed out, set up little tents and somebody or people got their tea organised. Heaven knows where they showered - the lake was freezing!
2. We had a wonderful coffee earlier, at a heritage home with the most incredibly beautiful gardens.
3. There is live entertainment here - called people watching!
People-watching is wonderful entertainment, and these people look especially interesting! Since they were there for such a short period of time, it is nice that you noticed them and got this pic.
