There was no evidence of an oncoming cyclone in the morning so we left the Rotorua Lake District. Diverted by a major road crash, we chose another destination in another district.
A beautiful Park with interesting Falls and wonderful bush and trees. Tomorrow we might photograph the Falls but at the moment the rain is steady and heavy.
The white is the water in the dam.
Three good things:
1. No cafe’s on the way so we used our onboard cafe for lunch - cold sausage, chilli chutney and red pepper in a buttered bread slice.
2. The info board at our lunch stop had interesting info on it. Before 1921, the only way from Tauranga to Auckland was by boat!
3. The Ranger came down in the dark with flashing lights and collected our $20 fee. Nice guy!
This looks so lush and green - lovely light filtering through the leaves. I hope the rain stops so you can capture the waterfalls which should be great after all the rain.
Beautiful green slope, it shows off your lovely row of trees, ferns & fencing, the whiteness behind is a wonderful backdrop. NZ must have been covered in bush not that long ago!
@happypat and a lot in forest too. But they are cutting those down for timber. Fortunately the only thing they like from bush, are the manuka which the bees make great honey from!
