Terpsikhore was named Muse of choral song and dancing, and depicted with a lyre and plectrum.
In addition to dance, she has more recently been invoked as a metaphor for rhythm and ordered movement in the universe, such as mechanical oscillations.
Her name means "Delighting in Dance" from the Greek words terpsis "to delight" and khoros "dance".
Yolanda loves to dance and joined in, jigging and bobbing while singing this little ditty:
“Our Gladys was doing the tango
But her partner was dancing fandango
When her stiletto got placed
In a sensitive space
His castanets swelled like a mango.”
Three Good Things:
1. Finished the rose pruning.
2. John is trying to sell his three motorbikes and as he manhandled them out of the garage in order to photograph, he damaged his damaged leg again! Fortunately not on the almost healed wound! Oh dear!
3. I found this picture of Terpsikhore that didn’t have bare breasts!
Oh my word that naughty Yolanda, she a very funny girl though! I think she moving in circles that might consider her ‘below stairs’! Oh dear John, a bit of a set back....that skin will be so delicate! Hope it’s not too sore & damaged.
@happypat John gouged out a bit of skin on his lower shin, Pat and it bled a bit. But he continues to say it is not sore at all which I think is a bit weird.
Your imagination is simply incredible, wotta woman. Yolanda is sure getting around, hope she's careful with those stilettos. When I first saw this image I thought Terpsichore was waving a whopping big wine-glass!!
Yolanda is living quite the life. Glad you found a decently attired .
Terpsichore. Sorry to hear about John's leg. Hopefully, he will get it checked out before it gets bad.
Yolanda is having a ball.& I am learning a lot........Hope John hasn't done too much damage..the district nurse will scold him i am sure..Thinking of you both.
There is a lot of Greek History that was part of world history that certainly I, never learnt! But its a bit like believing in the underworld! @casablanca
Terpsichore. Sorry to hear about John's leg. Hopefully, he will get it checked out before it gets bad.
Sorry to hear John has had another set back, you will have to wrap him in bubble wrap to stop him injuring himself again.
