...He Slipped An Engagement Ring On Her Finger. Wow ... two sons, two daughters-in-law, and four granddaughters later ... in the world today we would be considered survivors! We were both in college, he had returned six-months prior from the jungles of Vietnam after serving with the Marine Corps as a Combat Corpman. Met in December, asked me to marry him in March, gave me a ring in May and married in August. We have had an amazing journey, but we still stand in this same pose when we have a photo taken.
