Red Mushroom by mamabec

Red Mushroom

Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly Amanita, is a poisonous and psychoactive basidiomycete fungus.

This is the first of these I've seen this year. I know there are more and I'm looking forward to seeing some groupings of these.

@cheyrebecca
I think I read that there are cultures that use this to get high - but the word poison would stop me from even touching it.

I never saw these mushrooms until moving to the Oregon Coast. They really are interesting and get quite large.

@mamabec my father used to pick mushrooms back east where I grew up and I remember him talking about deadly amanita and how we should NEVER eat them!
