Background: Our oldest son is married to @luckygirl (our DIL) who went to college at USC. We have this "thing" we do with our DIL's parents who live in Newport Coast:
If Oregon wins the game (Oregon vs. USC), our DIL's parents display the Oregon helmet in a prominent place until USC wins the game. Well, USC won the game last night, so I got the USC helmet out of the bottom of the closet and we are now displaying the USC helmet on our entry table until we play each other again (which could be two YEARS!)... but, Oregon has to win the game or the helmet stays and if Oregon wins, the Oregon helmet goes back up at our DIL's parents house and this one goes back to the closet. It's because of love - for college football, and for each other.
I love it! What a fun tradition to have in the family:-) I totally appreciate and understand the love of college football and a little friendly rivalry within families. I watched that game last night and was surprised Oregon lost! Go Ducks and I'm glad you have the yellow and green beads out! Nice touch!!

It's really a fun tradition. The other part of the tradition has been (until this year) that our son, DIL and DIL's parents come to Eugene for the game and went it's at USC, our son, DIL, my husband and I go to Califormia for the game - usually stay with our DIL's parents, go to Disneyland and just have fun together. This year the tradition was broken because of when the game was played and Thanksgiving --- but in the end, because our DIL @luckygirl go so sick, it would not have been possible for her to come for the game anyway. So we begin new traditions ... but the helmet tradition remains!

You're welcome - sort of.
My team did not win - that's why the USC helmet is on display in my house. It's the tradition.
