A little hawthorne... by marlboromaam

A little hawthorne...

When I started with 365 nine years ago, it forced me to notice everything that grows on my little patch in the sticks. I was delighted when I found and identified a little hawthorne tree, and it's still alive. It's a very slow grower compared to other trees and I have yet to ID its variety. Maybe this spring when its leaves bud out I can pin it down. There are a few varieties of hawthorne that are native to the USA and grow wild in the Carolinas and Georgia.

Very much like the contrast of sharp focus and sharp as a pin branch against the soft brown tones and gentle DoF.

@sangwann Thank you and sorry, Dione. I think it'll be razor wire in the next war. Barbed wire isn't nasty enough for some.

@francesc Thank you, Frances! It seems pretty common over there. Not so common here. I think that's why when I found this one I was so fascinated by it.
