Native to the Carolinas and Georgia, this wild grass is commonly known as bulbous woodrush. My eyesight hasn't been that sharp in a long time, but I kept seeing brown splotches of color on some grass. I thought it was some kind of sand spur until I got down on the ground and examined it closely. Cool! Pays to NOT dismiss the smaller things.
