Okay ladies, move in for your closeup. That's it. Hold it right there! Ha ha! Hairy Cat's Ear blooms. Why the common name of Hairy Cat's-Ear? Because the leaves are hairy and the tips are shaped like a kitty cat's ear. More info here - http://namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=731
We're more than halfway through No Mow May and I've seen some wonderful captures of grasses, weeds, wildflowers and pollinators... But I'd love to see more and surpass last year's collection!!! I know I don't want to be in the fields trying to pollinate fruits and veggies with a feather. Do you?
@corinnec Thank you very much, Corinne! The easiest way to tell is by the stem... Dandelions have hollow stems and it's a single bloom on one stem. These have dark green solid stems and can support many more blooms on one stem. Unconfused?
