The passion vines have done very well in our heat and humidity this summer. I must admit that I'm surprised, since everything else just wilted. They continue to pop up wild in the yard and I just let them go and grow. I did save some fruit for the seeds. Phone shot.
@onewing Thank you, Babs. The fruit of passiflora incarnata is not palatable - I've tried it. Unlike passiflora edulis which I understand is delicious. =)
Sooo niiiiice!!!!
Mine had only one bud that never opened... I'm not sure if it will survive the winter. Is there something you do to prepare them for winter?
@monikozi Thank you, Monica. The vines die back in winter here and the seeds from the fruit will sprout new vines. I've never known a vine from this plant to live more than one season.
@briaan Thank you very much, Brian.
@ludwigsdiana Thank you so much, Diana. Edulis is beautiful too and you can eat the fruit from Edulis - no with incarnata.
@wakelys Thank you, Susan.
@cocokinetic Thank you, Karen.
@rontu You know it! But either I'm not outside when they are or they aren't coming around this year. I have captured a few in the past though. =)
@mittens Thank you, Marilyn.
