Under the mocker nut tree... Best viewed large, if you will.

You can see the woodpecker hole rows all the way up the tree. Mocker nut wood is very hard with bark like an old fashioned scrub board! Hasn't seemed to harm the tree at all. This tree is in the hickory tree family. The nuts look like hickory nuts but, they aren't fit for human consumption. It is a great shade tree in the summertime, too!
Love the pov and the lighting

Excellent lighting and focus. Great POV and focus, too! So well done. I'll bet the color version was lovely, too. It's cool in b&w, though:)!

I have never heard of a mocker nut tree. How interesting. Great angle and wonderful soft lighting. I wonder if mockingbirds like this tree? ;-)

@sabaa Thank you very much, Sabaa!

@cimes1 Mockingbirds don't normally hang out in the deep shade or woods, Carole. I've never seen mockingbirds in this tree. Not a great tree for small nests. However, lots of tree rats like to do their damage to the leaves and branches among some bugs and caterpillars. Of course, I see the woodpeckers, too - mainly the little downy. Thank your for your lovely comments! Most appreciated.
