Four color options to choose from...

So when I shoot black and white - I shoot in black and white - no conversion. =) I've been very happy with my cheap little Kodak digital bought around 2009. It only has 10mp which never gave me a problem until I wanted a bigger print. It has one permanent lens with a 12x zoom. It can go from landscape to macro and anything in between with a push of a button, but it can't get the details from too far away or down to the really tiny. It shoots pretty decent video with sound. It has an optical viewfinder with an optical zoom which I love! I got it to shoot items to list on the web. I didn't even know about 365 back then. I started 365 when I was laid off in March of 2011. It kept my mind occupied - being creative and productive was the best antidepressant and sanity saver. Overall, it acts like a film camera. I can use it in manual modes or auto. Right now, I'm looking at a Nikon bundle - hoping it will do what this camera does, but on steroids! It is a lot of money for me to spend on what I'd call a luxury. Anyone with a Nikon want to offer their opinion here? Looking for a friend. =)
The Nikon bundle is a great option as an entry level camera. I was bale to get some great shots with it. I passed that camera on to my niece who is enjoying the better camera for her photography. She is on 365 as HeidiL so you can check out some of her images. Let her know that I referred you to her as a current NikonD3500 user.

I was given a Nikon 5100 second hand and struggled at first but persevered and can now manage many of my shots off auto. I had never had a DSLR so a huge learning curve. I have just ordered a 5600 body only as I have invested in a 18-300mm sigma lens. I have found lots of support via YouTube. Still got lots to learn but enjoying the journey. 365 community and AYWMC (a year with my camera) really helped as I am such a novice.

Great essentials. It is the eye behind the camera that is most important, imho.

@wakelys You certainly are doing very well, Susan! I think you're way passed novice. Thank you for sharing your Nikon experience with me. =)

@joysabin Thank you! I only want a few more MP and a little more juice to focus on the really far away and tiny details. =)
