@julieco challenged me to try and make a photo in the style of an artist of my own choice. On the internet I found Damian Shields. https://damianshields.photoshelter.com/archive I don't have the expansive body of water he often has in his photos, or the expansive sky he almost always includes. But the dramatic element of rock in his landscapes I knew I would find at Pillsbury Crossing out in the Deep Creek rural area where my husband grew up. (Just about a 1/2 mile from where I took landscape pictures last week from the hay meadow looking over the field to the hills beyond. This morning I also challenged myself to compose a lot of my shots in B&W, though I did take some in color also. Sometime in the future I may go out to Tuttle Creek Reservoir and try for the big sky and big body of water.
@julieco here is the first of my pictures for your challenge. I will probably post others from this morning as well. Not sure I'll have a chance to go out to another location before Monday. Probably not.
Well done,Mary. This has quite a strong look of Damian's Endick Falls. If I've given you an interest in getting out and taking more landscapes than that's a successful outcome!
