Well, at least with one shot of the brush pile. My get pushed challenge from Jackie was “Play” so I thought I’d play with the iPhone apps I have. Here are some results from four different apps — Hyperspektiv, FutureEyes, Painnt, and in the middle Tiny Planets. Here’s what I was playing with: https://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2020-10-15
Have you ever tried the pendulum technique?
"'What is Pendulum Photography?
Pendulum photography is where the pattern created by swinging pendulum is recorded using a light source and camera set on a long time exposure. In the simplest case a point light source (torch) suspends from the ceiling by a single thin line.
A camera is placed underneath the pendulum and the room darkened. As the pendulum swings its motion is recorded by the camera as a moving line which traces out a swirling pattern."
@kali66 the challenge you gave me is really intriguing, but in the end I DID procrastinate even though I had promised myself I wouldn’t. I watched the tutorial video a couple of times and dithered about not having the things he shows he used like universal connector etc. I was nervous I’d damage the camera if I did it wrong. I’ve now got an idea of something to try that may (or may not) produce similar results. But I was just too busy today to gather what I need. Can I give you a rain check, and tag you when I come up with something worth posting?
Sincere apologies. You were such a good sport about the scavenger hunt I sent you on. Your honest thoughts on that? Worth trying again? Not worth repeating? If I ever gave it to someone else, should there be a couple more photos to choose from, such as “that person’s 12th and 31st most recent photos”? I hope you know the numbers were random. I didn’t preview the results of any of the searches.
ah well when i did it my basic setup was just hung a torch from a string tied to the ceiling, swing it and place the camera underneath looking up , set exposure time as long as i could which on my camera is 15 seconds, but longer the better...i cant remember if i pre-focused but that would be an idea, then take photos as the torch swung about! doesnt need to be as technical as the video, that was to give an idea of the principle of it. https://365project.org/kali66/365/2013-12-07
@kali66 I hadn’t actually seen your pendulum experiment that you posted. Cool! That’s very encouraging to know that. I was afraid I might burn the camera lens looking straight up at the light for that long. But the torch was in motion, so I shouldn’t have worried. And I have done light painting before with glow sticks. Hmmmm...

here are some very elaborate ones, but i dont expect such perfection, try to have fun with it, and perhaps add colour with post -processing.
