So…about a month ago we ordered (online) a replacement faucet from Home Depot, and decided to replace the sink also, since it was looking very dingy. The faucet arrived quickly. When the sink (heavy, enameled, cast iron) showed up on the front porch we called the plumber to install. They took the old one out and opened up the box and found that the sink was chipped, so they put the old one back in and we had the one that arrived damaged picked up and returned — and at the same time as I reported the damage on the phone I ordered another one. It arrived the other day and I opened the box with great anticipation. This is what I found. Far more damage than the first one — one whole corner is missing! It’s waiting for pickup and return. Third time I hope will be the charm, but THIS time I went to the store and had them order it to be delivered to them and will have them inspect it before they even called me to have our plumbers come and pick it up.
@grammyn Yep, actually I was probably one degree beyond frustrated. I was so hoping to have that sink and faucet installed before Christmas, and preferably before Dan came. But that’s this Wednesday. Sigh.
@randystreat I’m going to have Home Depot inspected first and then call me and let me know that it arrived not damaged when that happens then I’ll pay the plumbers little extra to pick it up. There’s no way I can pick it up it’s too heavy!!!!'
