My pigs wanted to concede the weekly Pigmania/Pass the Pigs game, when they saw the surface of the table outdoors on our patio. See explanation and photo here:
Admittedly, I could see their point. But I wasn't ready to throw in the towel and brought the top to a small, black folding table out and set it over one side of the problematic playing surface. A folded tablecloth brightened up the setting and served to cushion the iPad and the waffles (which didn't last long enough to really need special consideration, placement-wise).
It was chilly and I had my coat on. Part of the way through, this tiny, spitty little sprinkling of rain started. If it hadn't been for the iPad and picky pigs, I might have stayed, but retreated around to the front porch, where I believe it was actually colder. Eventually, I ended up finishing the game inside. I'm not sure why. It might have been for the poor, possibly brain-damaged squirrel that was hiding behind the cans of birdseed. I was so distracted by the squirrel, I can't remember if there was initially another good reason for heading inside.
We were outside long enough for me to get this shot of the setup. Here you see tiny pigs, Mochyn and Maiale and scoresheet ready to rack up points, iPad with 365 friends on Zoom, and cheap frozen waffles with applesauce, raspberries and chocolate chips. Only the apple sauce is a regular with my waffles. These were Pigmania TREAT waffles.
International Waffle Day was a hit, in my book. Next year, I'll think twice about how to celebrate World Meteorological Day. Jackie and her pigs, Pinky and Perky, won the game.
This is a great shot of your playing "field." It's so colorful and the commentary is so "Mary." I thought you had blueberries and strawberries on your waffles. This topping is much more inventive.
@grammyn The raspberries were fresh before going into the freezer. They were frozen before going onto the waffles in pieces. Raspberries thaw extremely quickly though.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond thanks Jackie I did put the tag on there even though I’m not following along with the 5+2 themes. Yes, even cheap, store brand waffles can get all gussied up.
@randystreat Kathy, if I had had blueberries it probably would have been more healthy. I happened to see a bag with just a few chocolate chips left in it and decided “What the heck! You only live once.”
