I can’t even remember which Christmas book I was trying to see if we had. When I went to the back bedroom to pull out our Christmas books, the five Spare Wise Men wanted to come too, and I thought why not give them a little fuller tour of the house? Not that this picture was taken back there. I had to clear a good flat space on the dining room table to lay this out so they could look carefully at it without toppling over. We didn’t get very far with the books (which is the reason I can’t remember which book I was looking for).
I pulled out one of the old Christmas Ideals issues. As I flipped through it, I found this story of the Wise Men with art to illustrate it. I asked them if they thought it was a good portrayal and they had to inspect it further, hence the move to the dining room table. They grudgingly admitted it wasn’t bad, but it was awfully flat. Belonging originally to three dimensional Nativity sets, that’s what they were used to. One of them began methodically reading the text, which sparked an interest in some of the others, who then complained he was standing on what they were trying to read from the sidelines.
Your stories are so entertaining Mary. You have such a creative mind. You make it appear effortless and so believable. This is a wonderful Composition with the spare Wiseman.
@mcsiegle I'm glad you are enjoying my challenge. I'm enjoying your stories. I've been trying the challenge, too. My rubber duckie has been enjoying his tour of the house.
