A convention

On our way home from the hike earlier this week, I saw this scene with probably 200 birds huddled together along a set of three telephone lines. It is very common to see a few birds on a line, but to see this many is very strange

Great shot. Depending on what bird it is, it's likely part of the migratory patterns called 'flocking' or 'staging'

Oh how amazing is that, it would have been great to see them all take off at once ;-)

@ludwigsdiana Yes, that would have been a spectacular sight, but we were driving by (my wife was driving) and I happened to be able to catch this as we drove by. We couldn't stop and wait for them to fly off. Thanks for your comment.
