I had never paid much attention to tree trunks (until recently when I seem to pay attention to everything outside while hunting an interesting picture) but thought this birch tree bark looked really neat early in the morning. Think they call this a paper birch

Lovely textures and tones. Tree bark can definitely be very interesting as it comes in so many different forms.

Shot another later in the day Allison, (this one was at 6:40 in the morning) - tree bark definitely whiter and the peelings more pink tinged. Interesting what light does.
