8-3 Lunchtime??

Ordinarily, not my choice of subjects - but I did enjoy what probably was the thought process of this Midland Water Snake - which one do I want for lunch? Those are young trout innocently swimming much too close. Or perhaps, he's just sunning and watching. Maybe

I like all the different shades of brown in this and the diagonal of the line of the rocks on which the snake's basking - or getting ready to strike!

@falcon11 I was standing on a little bridge culvert looking down into the water - safe distance that's for sure!! Don't do snakes either.

This is an awesome shot! I wish I could get over my fear of snakes! My husband showed me a 5 foot long snake skin in the hayfield last week and I can't get it out of my mind when I'm walking through the tall grass!!!
