Sitting on Alert

One of the best things about Spring is the arrival of the hummingbirds. Love to see them try to ambush each other. She's sitting patiently watching the feeder, ready to chase anyone off. Grey day - hence the blah sky.

That 'blah' sky gave you a wonderful high-key backdrop. For being such wee things, hummingbirds come programmed with all sorts of spunk and spirit, don't they. I wish they wouldn't be so mean to each other. They too cute to be such little beasts! Lovely image you've captured here.

Benny thanks you for the comments shared on his two pictures. He's a very cooperative little guy, willingly sitting wherever he's asked. Standing is a little more of a challenge for him though. It takes some assistance to achieve that.

This is only the second shot of a perching hummingbird I've ever seen and I think the first one was yours too.
Great capture, as always, love the composition. The white background gives the shot something of a look of an oriental painting.
