Try this one of black. Not my usual posting - this crawdad had claws nearly as big as a lobster! At first I thought he was dead sitting in the middle of the bridge over the little creek so I got down real low to take a shot - and he starts crawling towards me - fairly fast. I did take a head on shot but also took this one which I like for those really odd eyes.
Oh my, he is a monster of a crayfish & I'm surprised you didn't run when he headed straight for you....You're right, the claws are really big but I do like the little bit of red I see at the tips of his claws. Great shot Milanie and you're right it's different, but also very nice...
@gilbertwood Wish I knew what happened to him - didn't go back down there until the next morning - by then long gone. So he either finished crossing the little bridge and headed down to the creek - or a large bird came by and "gave him a ride"!
What a picture! We haven't seen many crawdads on 365, at least I haven't. He looks absolutely huge. I'd have jumped a foot if he'd suddenly started moving while I was studying him. They really do have interesting eyes, don't they. You got a super picture of him. I hope he made it back to the safety of the water and the rocks.
Wonderful find and capture.
