Today, due to a meeting, I was all day in Bern. (Capital of Switzerland, about 1.5 hours drive away from my home). Only at noon I could tear myself away for 15 minutes, to capture quickly a picture of the old town. So this is a snapshot of a modern Saturday noon activity 2015 in a city whose basic structure is the same for hundreds of years.
By chance, the last days happened to be on the subject: selective color (inartificial, as yesterday or 21th, or through the process on the computer). So I upload also today an image, in which a detail is highlighted by colour.
Wikipedia: The Old City of Bern is the medieval city center of Bern. Built on a narrow hill surrounded on three sides by the Aare River, its compact layout has remained essentially unchanged since its construction during the 12th to the 15th century. Despite a major fire in 1405, after which much of the city was rebuilt in sand stone, and substantial construction efforts in the 18th century, Bern's old city has retained its medieval character.
@terryliv No, sorry. At noon there was no snow on the ground. It started snowing, when I was on my way back. But it seems that there will be not a lot of it. Not a "good" winter yet. :-(
