Already at the first light, I hiked to the hidden little gold lake and made the first tracks in the fresh snow. Little gold lake? No, there is no gold here. But in summer the small lake sometimes turns into golden hues at sunrise/set. The small lake is fed by groundwater flows, and as now it is not frozen yet. The big landslide in 1806 from the Rossberg, burying 102 houses and causing the death of 457 people, had formed such lakes in large numbers. But most have since been drained naturally or by human hand.
Today the Goldau landslide area is a nature and plant reserve. Plants that would normally not have a chance of developing in the wooded landscape were able thrive in this extensive area, including rare species of orchids such as the lady’s slipper. But for the lady’s slippers we have to wait until end of May.
@susie1205@sunnygreenwood@nicoleterheide@ingrid_marianna Thank you very much for the kind responses. The "Goldseeli" (little gold lake), is really a mystic hidden place. I was all alone. Such a place is a wonderful source of positive energie.
The reflection is lovely. The white snow creates a nice framing element. I agree with Susana's suggestion to crop the top white. It draws my eye away form the important elements in this beautiful image.
This is beautiful. I can't believe the steel-grey color of the water and how it reflects the forest! The line between the snow and the dark water is also magical.
