2015-04-25 old variety of tomatoes

A large handful of beautiful coloured tomatoes, an old variety, thats what I have here. Grown on real soil and warmed with real sun. What's better than tomatoes, with real tomato flavour. However, the result of my image is more playing around than what I wanted ... but this does not matter. The tomato salad (insalata caprese), with fresh basil and fine buffalo mozzarella, will be delicious. I promise. And I will eat it all alone, as my husband doesn't like tomatos at all. Not even the real ones.
Great capture and processing. Love the reflections

Nice shot. I can't wait until our first tomatoes come ripe late in the summer. We prepare them exactly the way you do. They are so good!

Wish I could have your husband's share of the salad -- yum. The photo is lovely, nicely composed, and great reflections and DOF. Your processing works well for the image, too. A big fav!

Beautiful capture, Mona!

Nice work, like your processing here. I agree, nothing like a 'real' tomato from a garden.

I love your processing, Mona. It's a beautiful composition. And I completely agree with your comments about real tomatoes. The store-bought ones just don't taste like the ones from my Grandmother's garden. Fav.

@yeshanghai @pej @melston @aikimomm @susanalena @oly @aecasey @ninaganci @jetr @francoise @ingrid_marianna @nicknac Thank you all for the nice and kind comments. Apparently I have given with my ppor English the impression that these tomatoes are regionally or grown by myself. Unfortunately, no. They are bought in a store where I can get more then greenhouse veggies, and they come from Sicily, Southern Italy.

I don't much like tomatoes either but this is a lovely still life and I really like the treatment that you gave them.fav.
