On the Way Home

Yesterday, Mum and Dad came over for afternoon tea. I baked a cake and made plunger coffee and we had a good few hours together chatting while Dad sat and watched the Touring Car racing on channel 7 with headphones on.
Meanwhile, Mum and I were looking through my photos of New Zealand from when I went there in 1993. I had been trying to explain about a church that was on the banks of Tekapoe Lake in the South Island; however found it difficult; so out came the photos.

Afterwards, I was off to see one of my friends to help her with her cat. I'm horribly allergic to cats, but I agreed to assist her with putting drops into her lovely cat's eye so he could regain his eyesight. Gus had gotten a grass seed in his eye while playing outside and it had become infected. So, drops in that eye for a week was called for; and I'm on the night shift for the drops. Seeing I break out in hives around him, I take an antihistamine and put on gloves when I have to touch him... otherwise I hang around and make sure he's going okay.

Lately, he's become very smoochy with me; rubbing up against my jeans and looking at me and meowing... how cute! Now, Gus never used to do that.
This is the path I take each time to walk to my friend's place. It's between my unit complex and the Woodridge Fire Station. It's only in recent years that it's been this well lit.
Sounds like you had quite a day, and it sounds like you may have found a new friend in your friend's cat

@digitalrn yeah... he's a funny little, fluffy guy. Takes time for him to warm to some people. And I guess his thinking is that if I'm makin' him feel better with the horrible drops, well, he'll be nice to me. :)

Nice combo of photos you have here. Hope the allergies don't get too bad being around Gus.

@digitalrn @beteljooz @loey5150 thank you all for your lovely comments. It was a good afternoon; and yes, Gus is becoming a good friend - even for a cat who never used to like me very much.

And you wouldn't believe it, he let me pat him today and take photos with my camera! Now, that's a big change in him... or was he just flirting with me because he was feeling poorly? :P
