Mother Nature's Rage

Last night, we had a massive storm hit Logan City. The epicentre of it was at Shailer Park, but where I live, around 10 minutes drive away, we still got some damage.

I was checking some windows upstairs when I heard a noise on my roof. I thought it was one of two things - my wirly-gig or my antenna. Unfortunately, it was my antenna. The tv still works, but gets really crappy reception just like it has for the last year.
Then, this morning, I walked out the front to Kingston Road and found the top third of this tree at the letterboxes on the ground! I looked like it had fallen onto power lines, bounced off and landed on the ground! This is how close I came to having no power for a couple of days. But the tree might have to be lopped as we think it might have been struck by lightning because there's more damage closer to the ground.
Wow, that is some nasty damage, no structure damage though I hope

@digitalrn No, fortunately. However it's taken forever to get a hold of the antenna people... and the longer I leave the damaged antenna, the worse the reception is becoming on my tv... so Dad's been calling and calling them.

Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon, I'll have a new antenna.

However, the tree looks as though it might have been struck by lightning. I took a closer look at it this morning. It's got a big crack near the base and a another up near the break; splitting two other major branches. And this is a major shade tree too.
