One of my friends - Ian - is moving over to New Zealand to live. Today is the last day I'll be seeing him... so this morning, I was at his place to help him pack the last minute things.
He was going really well, then started pulling out all these things! He gave me the little drawers from next to his bed, the Nutrabullet thingy and that blurred present? Well, that's for Mum and Dad... so can't give anything away.... but he gave that to me as well.
Anyway, he also couldn't fit in his second Bambillo pillow and gave that to me and then parted with a whole lot of brand new t-shirts! Woah! My Christmas came early from this great friend!
I'm gonna miss him - as we get along so well - but we're going to keep in contact.

@digitalrn He is. Even though he was brought up rough in the Redfern area of Sydney, been in and out of prison and had a hard life of drugs and booze, Ian has straightened himself out. He's battled kidney cancer (and lost one kidney to that disease) and then when he and I met, we just kinda made sense as friends. I look like a bit of push-over, but he knows I'm not... he knows I haven't had the perfect life; and that's why we get along so well.
Isn't it funny how the best people come from the most unusual places? Ian I are about a decade apart and yet we're best of mates.
