The Sign of Spring by nickspicsnz

The Sign of Spring

Although I wasn't born in Wales I grew up there and spent most of my life living in Wales (I sound Welsh!). So for me the daffodil - the national flower of Wales - is synonymous with spring - it's worn for St David's Day on 1 March (when spring starts in the UK). It seemed appropriate to kick off my month of spring shots for the theme suggested by @mozette.

The daffodil is also the flower for The Cancer Society's fundraising so I thought it was quite a fitting shot for the month of yellow theme started by @whimsicalgrateful which I am going to contribute to as much as I can.
Wow, double theme! And a daffodil, how appropriate! Thanks, Nick :)

Beautiful shot Nick. I too love daffodils and agree that they are synonymous with spring. Strange to think of you enjoying daffodils when we're just going into autumn.

I love finding out out little facts like this on 365! :) This little flower says a lot!
like Sue said- it's so strange you're entering spring while we're starting to see fall colors!
Happy spring! :)

Lovely. Daffodils are such a wonderful flower partly because they bring in spring (and partly for their intrinsic beauty). Great to see them at this time of year when they are a distant memory here in the UK.

It's a bit odd seeing a daffodil in September for me, being UK based, haha! Lovely photo!

@whimsicalgrateful @soboy5 @susiemc @janewinfrey @bkbinthecity @annied @ditzy @phil_howcroft @rickster549 @deliad @tristansmum @roachling Thanks very much. The different seasons are what makes other parts of the world feel far away... and I cannot get used to having Christmas in the summer, lol!
