Great insect macro Nic, it is hard to get a shot where the whole insect is in focus.
It is from the Calliphoridae family (blow flies) - but ID to lower levels are usually done with a microscope.

I was very pleased with the focus on this one, especially as I normally have too much wobble to get a decent focus with handhelds. @imaginings Thanks for your comment and for the identification. I don't normally look this closely at flies so they all look the same to me, just some are bigger than others, lol!
