Very sadly our community farewelled a lovely person today. She was hugely admired for her courageous fight against breast cancer. Her farewell party (she didn't want a funeral) was a wonderful tribute. Many people wore pink because it was her favourite colour. As she was a primary school teacher there were lots of children there. They were all given pink balloons to release, as were several adults.
The message she wanted conveyed to everyone was to make sure you check, and attend medical checks, for all types of cancer.
It felt a bit macabre getting my camera out but I had wanted to record the balloons being released for her husband and daughter. Unfortunately I didn't get any good shots.
This is so sad. Amazing how you caught the heavy feeling in the photo. My condolences, I hope the best for her family. Nice touch the pink balloons as well
This is a very memory capture!
