Happy Mother's Day everyone. Another shot from my walk with Tilly yesterday. I like how the toetoe (pronounced toitoi) were highlighted by the evening sun. This definitely looks better on black.
Toetoe is the native NZ version of pampas grass. I didn't realise, until @yorkshirekiwi mentioned it in the commentary on one of her photos, that the European's introduced pampas grass from S America to NZ and it's now quite prevalent. It's hard to distinguish the two unless you're close up but I like to think the ones in the shot are native toetoe.
