Wearable Arts

I went to the Huntly Wearable Arts Show with @mingr this evening. Some amazing art costumes all created from recycled materials.
They look great. Why go to Wellington when you can go to Huntly

@yorkshirekiwi Why indeed - I was actually quite surprised how good some of the costumes were.
@deliad They have their own Wearable Arts on alternate years - this is the first time I've been.
@alinz Was better than I thought it would be.
@happypat This was just a small selection.
@taffy Amazing what people can create from bits and pieces. One young girl had five costumes - one in each category and they were all amazing.
@rickster549 Some of the costumes were real works of art.
@susiemc They were great Sue - very colourful and lots had movement too.
@denidouble Thanks Deni. We had a great evening.
The top left-hand shot was called Stribog. It was entered in the "Wind" category and is the artist's interpretation of a German spirit of the wind. It was brilliant - she is on four "legs" - stilts and then arm extensions. That one, and the one in the middle top, were my favourites.
The one at the top right is crocheted out of plastic and took 100 hours to create.
The bottom left-hand head-dress is made out of old lampshades.
