This little chap was making one heck of a noise on a flax plant next to our deck. It was really loud in our living room. I've rotated the photo from vertical as the cicada looks a bit better this way round for some reason.
Taken as b&w in camera for Flash of Red Feb. Did the lighter line on the flax stalk lead you to the cicada's eye? That was the intention anyway!
