We had a glorious sunset today. Sadly I couldn't see much of it as houses have now been built where we used to have a field of wildflowers. I can no longer hear any larks singing. We have one house right behind our back fence so, whereas I used to have a marvellous wide view of sunsets, now I have a restricted view between rooftops. Our small rural village, where everyone knew everyone, is very rapidly growing into a sprawling town. I know people need houses but it's not going to help with global warming when employment is at least 45km's drive away from our town and we have practically no public transport.
We shifted out of Auckland 25 years ago because of the encroaching houses! No longer watching the Pakuranga Hunt out in the fields - now 100's of dark roofs!
Lovely sunset!
Lovely sunset!
It is the same here with housing.
Maybe a bit controversial but I thing more contraception is required.
