a cat's paw is "a person used unwittingly or unwillingly by another to accomplish the other's own purpose"...
this gentleman unwittingly is fulfilling my need to post a photo for the mad minute word challenge... today's word is: chatoyant - which speaks to a streak of light as is found in certain gemstones... the root of the word coming from cat's eye...
now tell me that the streak of sunlight is not reminiscent of a cat's eye... go on... i dare ya! :)
Shot in RAW, processed in LR5 (not hugely, tho)... converted to b&w in nik silver efex and split toner added... reduced opacity of bw layer to 80% for the desaturated look... not sure it has that much of an impact tho - just wanted to try it out... feel free to weigh in with your thoughts on this...
@ozziehoffy i dunno... i wasn't in a mood today to overdo... LR5 is fine... but i never really used LR4 to its potential and definitely not using LR5 to its potential... yet... will take a couple courses over the summer and hopefully gain some skills... and of course i lurve nik silver efex... :D
Nice!!! I dig the shadows - especially since they show what you can't otherwise see. The diagonals of the windows add much to this as well - nicely spotted.
I keep thinking the bucket is a portaloo because I bet I know what would happen to me as soon as I got geared up and started.
He is a great cats paw....well used
Fantastic processing -and thanks for telling us what you did/used. I get a bit carried away sliding sliders and clicking presets and then can't remember how I got there. Also a fab photo.
I think this is great, well seen, well captured, well processed. And the processing commentary is really useful too, guess I work a bit like @jocasta, hit and miss really.
@jocasta@pennyp tx :) that's how i used to work too... but i found that i would finish the edit and then decide i need to change something... and with nik, you have to start from scratch... so now i pay a little more attention to what i am doing
Do you like LR5? I think I might need to look at Nik Silver Efex... seems to be more versatile when doing BW's.
He is a great cats paw....well used
I hope that you aren't too close to that edge.
