FINALLY got myself to a marina this morning... and discovered (a) i had brought the wrong-sized filter and had to mcgiver it and (b) while long exposure works wonders to smooth out the water, it ends up muddling the boats... oh, and (c) geese are hugely annoying...
edited entirely in LR5... debated going bw but decided i kind of liked the pastel colour tones...
thank you for the continued visits, comments and favs... i've been struggling to keep up with commenting back lately - i will try to do better over the coming week...
@tigerdreamer there was, y'know, a gaggle of them ;p as i had gone on my bike, i only brought the gorilla pod... and the stupid geese kept walking thru my (resultingly low) line of sight...
@northy Well, me too. When people do those ICM trees and certain 50mm shots ( I always think of Jerry Plume's sushi pic a while back) it is all slightly out of focus...and it works. So I agree!
@lynnb oh... i tried duct tape on my bike light (to no avail)... but for this, i just ended up holding the ND filter up to the lens... no duct tape involved ;p
I like the slight blur on the boats. It makes the whole thing look like a painting. And so glad you left this in colour....even if it was making you twitch :)
Isn't that just the way. Best thoughts are later.
What's the story with the geese?
altho i might try @janim 's suggestion for practice one day - and to see how i like the technique...
