my third boy... and another one for my push challenge set by Anita (@neatz)... Anita suggested i take a silhouette of one of my boys and set it against a psychedelic colour background taken from a kaleidoscope of one of my photos or a piece of fabric or a painted backdrop - whatever comes to mind... and this could be done in post processing...
an explanation for how i got the silhouette shot is in my write up from a couple days ago...
the background in this one was created in PS... i created a new white layer and applied the half tone filter, turned it 90 degrees, then applied the polar coordinates filter... added a hue / colourization layer for the colour purple, placed it on top of the silhouette with the centre around his head... and then used the darken blend mode (and yeah - i know that sounds like a lot, but walk thru it a couple times and you'll see what i mean)...
You have really excelled at these. I hope you also enjoyed them. You havre mastered superb silhouetting and awesome composition onto these interesting backgrounds.
I hope you frame the three and hang them up together in frames. Then take a photo to show me. Great after weeks of bad responses in Get Pushed to get such quality and such a positive response. Makes it all worthwhile.
@neatz thank you so much for the challenge Anita... and for the response to it :) this has definitely been one of my favourite pushes ever!
@radiogirl tx! the older one likes his, i think... at least, he took a picture of it with his phone to show his friends... presumably because he thought it was cool although, who knows when it comes to teenagers... ;p
very cool. Now I've got in mind a sort of paper-cutting (you know, those paper cuts that swiss mountain people sit for hours cutting during the long cold winters) family portrait in silhouette inspired by these shots.

Do you boys like them?
