infinitesimal by northy

infinitesimal

There’s a million, billion, trillion stars but I’m down here low
Fussin’ over scars on my soul, on my soul, on my soul, on my soul
On my soul, I am so infinitesimal, oh

for get pushed this week @thejazzyj challenged me to present my favourite song, album or artist in photo form... i actually don't have a favourite anymore, and i'm not even sure i like this song, but it does nag at me, and reminds me of something someone had in their twitter profile: "statistically irrelevant"... so this will have to do for now...

also posting for the mundane challenge on the assumption that a pebble qualifies as a rock...

last night at the cottage... tomorrow morning i pack up and get on the road early as i need to be home in time to grab lunch and get to a 2pm mtg... oh happy day ;p
@thejazzyj - here's one go at the challenge... i will see if i can come up with others over the weekend... :)

I really enjoy the big ideas in this shot of a small thing. " We are part of this universe; we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us." - Neil deGrasse Tyson. Very cool. Thank you. :)

I like the narrative behind this, the idea of relevance and scale, and the way you used DoF to convey this.

This is truly a piece of art, with the image and the narrative. You have given me things to think about on this Friday morning, thank you.

I like the paradox too that the single, infinitesimal grain of sand (or pebble) is mega-star when photographed like this.

That looks like a mouth ready to devour in the background- now that is a scar to your soul. Wonderful use of dof and bw.
