not sure where i learned this song... i think it was in grade school, long before i ever contemplated moving to Nova Scotia for uni... anyhoo - song came to mind as i was taking this pic... it was taken in halifax although the lighthouse figure is the iconic one from Peggy's Cove... got lucky with having one of the tall ships milling about in the marina in the background...
Like you, I don’t remember exactly where I heard this song but I do remember, when I was growing up, there seemed to be quite a few local based variety or music shows that appeared regularity on TV. One, I remember, came on every Saturday night after the hockey game (that one was called Juliette) since we nearly always watched hockey we often saw that show too. There were others that seemed to be produced in the Maritimes and I suspect that this song was probably aired on one of those more than once.
