Happiness is... Snow!!!

He loves the snow and was thrilled to be able to go sledding today :)

Feel free to critique - i need lots of help in the portraiture department!

A long exposure night snow shot in my main album:

Thank you so much for all the attention to my mundane plug shot... I was happy with how that one turned out and I am glad to know it wasn't just me!
Beautiful portrait - love the snow in the hair.

Critique what? Nothing wrong with this! I like to washed out background against the colors. Super portrait.

Amazing capture! Love his expression and smile! :) Contagious! =D

I think this is great. To critique, it feels to me like his shoulder should be slightly out-of-focus - to match with the rest of the jacket. The snow in the hair is a magic touch.

Cute

Love the soft light & that smile. The snow in his hair is a lovely touch. I think you've done really well with this.

I think it's a wonderful shot, very natural. What I do to most of my portraits is focus on the eyes. To me I would try and lighten the circles slightly in post under his eyes and make the eyes themselves pop a bit more. If you are not sure how I can tell you on PSE 10 :) but the pic itself is great.

Really lovely shot!

Love the snow in the hair....bet he's been belly flopping on his sled! Great smile!

Love the rosy pink cheeks and relaxed smile. The crop feels just the tiniest bit tight on the head to me, but that is being picky. Lovely portrait

Gorgeous shot! Love the high key lighting and the crispness of this shot!

@newbie tx Stacey... i actually do know how to do that in PSE... i brighten eyes and brush teeth on a regular basis... guess i could have brightened his face a bit as well... it always amazes me what a difference it makes when i do :)

@shezza tx! i think i see what you mean... altho' i doubt if i could do that on purpose...

@northy I don't really think his face needs brightening, there seems to be enough light, just lighten the under eye circles, I find almost everyone gets them, young or old. I always think it brightens everything up just to reduce them slightly. You always want to keep a bit of shadow or lines to keep it natural though.

Beautiful expression, precious shot x

It is a super portrait, feels quite natural and you have captured something of his character. Of course it could do with more effort at concentrating the light where you want it - under the eyes perhaps and not on the back of the coat - but in messing about with the light you risk taking away exactly that which makes this shot a bit special.

I'd be very happy with this one. Love the tight crop.
