for reasons i can't begin to explain, i am posting only pure black and white images in my main album (except for flash of red on the 14th)... yes, this is still black and white, but i've added a smidgeon of tone to the shadows in LR and so it JUST.CAN'T.GO in my main album... i think i may need help ;p
anyhoo... posting this regardless (a) because i kind of like the shot, and (b) for my get pushed challenge set by @aecasey - to incorporate words within the frame of the photograph...
posting some random trees from yesterday's frigid-but-glorious lake Ontario walk in my main album...
I love the way you've framed the buildings with other, taller buildings. The lines make a great pattern. Not sure I understand why it's not a genuine black and white but I'm glad you posted it,
@catwoman2 tx Mary... it is still considered black and white... but i added a bit of toner to it, so it's not pure black and white... if you put this next to the photos in my main album, you'd see what i mean... adding toner to a black and white image is quite common... as i said above, it can give depth to an image, as well as add warmth (or coldth ;p)...
Excellent lines and tinge of color... but I have to work to see it, so not too much. I like the jiggly reflection lines in the windows of the building on the right. I also like the non-symmetrical floor lines in the middle center buildings. So.. I hear you are chilly there, yes? Ouch.
Love this shot - great composition and framing. Your commentary made me laugh as I made an agreement with myself that toning was ok for this month. We may be over-thinking this challenge!
