Each year I purchase a new glass ornament for my tree. This year I chose a pink ornament to represent the challenging year I have had, as I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring. And after many doctor appointments, scans, surgery and treatments, I am now on the mend. I'm looking forward to my energy level increasing and returning to doing the things that bring joy into my life. :)
Very pretty and meaningful. I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis but probably accounts for frequent absences here. I pray that the cancer was found and removed successfully and the treatments will keep it gone!
Your beautiful picture stopped my scrolling in its tracks, and then I read your words. What a special meaningful ornament it is. I'm SO very glad and thankful to hear you are now on the mend. I will pray for your continued progress. †
oh, kid, i'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis but happy that the treatments worked well. big hugs. this is a pretty ornament and the colour is real gorgeous. aces!
@randystreat Thank you soooo much Kathy. @shutterbug49 Thank you Shutterbug, that is our hope too. @janetb Much appreciated Janet, thank you. @yorkshirekiwi Thank you Carole, life is full of happy sprinkles and I continue to look for them everywhere. @summerfield Thanks Ms. V, can't wait for the new year & healthy new beginnings @granagringa Thank you Madeline, much appreciated.
I just came across your Project.
I just celebrated my 72nd birthday.
At 41 (1991) I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. I had four positive lymph nodes. I was the good girl… I didn’t drink or smoke - but, cancer is no respecter of persons. I had double mastectomies, a truckload of chemo for almost two years - was in the hospital every other weekend the first year. My doctor wanted me to live as much as I wanted to live.
All of this was followed by reconstruction.
I live a life of gratitude and my life saying is: “What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.”
We are survivors!
We know the gift of everyday.
Soak it up, pic up your camera and seize the day!
Be blessed!
