Across the river, and within the city we have seven bridges, One have been demolished and a temporary pedestrian bridge is built for the duration of the construction.
This is a part of the railway bridge. The first railway bridge was a wooden bridge erected in 1872. You can see one of the stone pillars in the picture. Later years new bridges have been built to accommodate double track. The bridge is in two parts "landing" on the island "Holmen". It's the longest railway bridge in Norway (451m + 341m)
Today was overcast, and it started to rain when I took my wife to work this morning. The rain is very welcome after weeks of dry and warm weather. Grass and plants started to dry out, so hopefully nature gets a boost with this rain.
