My son Erick is reconstructing the front of his home. The old front porch didn't have proper drainage so the upper porch floor rotted and damaged the ceiling of the porch below. The roof was also not constructed well and it was sagging beyond repair. So, off came the old and a new structure is slowly being put on, beginning with a new stone facing on the foundation.
From the outside, the door looks rather humorous. That first step is a real doozy! Inside though, it's safely blocked off. Sometimes these odd sights get me thinking about life lessons found in the Bible. This one reminds me of Psalm 141:3 which says, "Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth. Keep watch over the door of my lips."
Just as I would not want to walk carelessly through that door and fall splat! on the earth below, I would also not want a careless word to slip past my lips and fall splat! on to someone's ears. So my title today, is a caution to myself- watch your step Ann!
@supergrannie@jmj Thank you Shirley and Jennifer. It was a good one to dabble with on the photo editing and a great one for a life lesson. Thanks for your kind words!
