Another victim of the Tock's Island project was the Bushkill General Store, once a bustling business, now empty, closed up and run down. As the siding and closed door attest, it has seen better days, but not too long ago, travelers and locals alike could get an ice cream on a hot afternoon, or a hot chocolate to ward off the winter cold. It was a photo stop for me today, along with a few errands I ran. As I walked around the old building, I wished it was open once again and full of life like it used to be. That little dried flower shining in the sun, seemed to signify the memory of this lovely building long ago, but the siding spoke of the reality of its present state instead.
