31 Days of Rust Day 7

I've fallen behind a bit, but I hope to catch up before my granddaughter Leigh arrives on Friday for a visit! It's the only thing that has taken the sadness out of saying good-bye to my grandsons Isaac and Micah (and their folks) today!

I took this shot at the end of May in the little town of Oley, PA. and since my visiting family has occupied most of my time, I decided to use it for my post today.
Great textures

Beautiful orange rusty colour. Love how some of the metal is untouched and the other is rusted. Cool.

You have such a great eye for shots like this. Nicely done!

Strong composition with minimalist approach. It seems to tilt just a tad to the right (looking at the horizon level of the horizontal bar, not the angles to the right).

Cool shot. Wonderful composition and details.

Love the contrast between the two textures and you are lucky to have more than one grandchild. Life is sweet and enjoy.

Nice shot, Ann. I like the different contrasts. It's neat it still have some silver still in it.

@dibzgreasley Thanks Debs! That's what caught my attention.
@nadaa Thank you Nada!

@cimes1 Thank you Carole! I do look forward to it and then I'm completely worn out when they leave!
@altadc Thank you Alta!
@salza Thank you Sally!
@nancih Thank you Nanci! I think that my camera has in some ways shaped the way I see pictures now. Since it does macros well, I tend to do "smaller" shots because of it.
@taffy Thank you Taffy! I agree- I tried my best to straighten this. But that angled piece behind the latch was really throwing me off! LOL I'd like to go back and reshoot the silly thing!
@daisymiller Thank you Daisy!
@yaorenliu Thank you Yao! I am definitely blessed with some very wonderful grandchildren! I am very grateful for each one and enjoy them all. Thank you for those lovely words!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! You know, I am going to revisit some of the shots I took on your mountain. I think there might be a few rust shots in there too!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick!

It looks like the rust is creeping it's way forward. love the color and texture as well on here and the barn boards.
July 9th, 2014
I love the contrasts and different textures.

@bruni Thank you Bruni! It does look like a barn, but it was actually a gate on a wooden fence. I wonder though, if maybe they may have used barn boards to build it.

@skstein Thank you Sandy!

wow, looks like it has been spray painted on!
July 10th, 2014
@mhatch Thanks Mark! I can truthfully say that it was not! The bright light probably contributes to that optical illusion.
