Thanksgiving has always been a time for being with family for me. I miss the days when our family-at-large was closer and more of us gathered together. But I'm still thankful that my youngest sister and her family live close enough that we can carry on the family tradition. As you can see dessert is very serious business for us! Apple or Pumpkin, whipped cream out of the can or whipped up fresh, coffee or tea- all these choices matter when it comes to enjoying those after dinner sweets (which is why everyone looks so serious here)!
Actually, I just happened to catch everyone with an odd expression on their faces (and if they knew I was posting this I'm sure I'd get a few more faces!!). We really love dessert and the rule on Thanksgiving is that it is acceptable to have a small piece of each kind of pie if one desires! There will be no raised eye-brows today- only raised forks!
I had originally switched this one to black and white for Black and White November but it did not help to improve the shot. Instead it only served to make the picture slightly flat and boring. So I sent it through some different effects in Smart Photo Editor and liked how the sepia tone of this one made it look like something out of The Waltons. It's not exactly black and white, but at least it's mostly monotone!
Coming from a very small family, large family gatherings are a tad overwhelming to me! Love how you edited this. With all the talk of pumpkin pie recently I have decided that I need to make one. It's not something that you find in South Africa!
I totally like what you have finished this shot with! It may have been an interesting topic that they were all contemplating but your words mean there will be dessert in all its glory! fav
Nice shot, Ann. Love the family gathering. Cool processing, too. I must check into the smart editor program. I wish I had the $$ to get it. Oh - I sent you a message at FB regarding my addy. I hope you got it!!
