For the next 5 Saturday's I will be working as a teaching assistant in a photography class for children with cancer. We have 12 students and they are AWESOME!! I am so impressed with them and a few of the teens already show a lot of potential. I cannot share with you shots of the students, but I can show you the unique place we are holding the class- this old factory building which has been converted into art studios and classrooms. As you can see, they used to make cigars here! This building has a tremendous amount of character not to mention photo opps! So get ready for a series of Saturday Cigar shots in the weeks to come.
Can't wait to see the photos and can you share "their" photos? How awesome for you to be able to help teach the children some photography tips and rules to be broken!! Lucky you! Love the texture of this building all ready! FAV!
What a wonderful thing to be doing, such a privilege. I'm sure you will get as much out of the opportunity as the children will. Will you be able to share some of their photos?
The reflection on the window was first to attract my attention and I like it. Looks like a lovely building with lots of history. Well captured. Looking forward to see more.
This shot really began as a picture to record the day- but in the end I think the processing really brought out a lot of character in the building. I'm looking forward to going back next Saturday for the next shot.
Thank you Sue, Leana, Kathy, Annie, Sandy and Carole for your gracious favs!
For those of you who were asking, I won't be able to post anything connected with the program other than where we're having our classes. I believe the pictures are technically the foundations until the students complete the course and of course with the students themselves, it's a privacy issue. However, we will be having a gallery show in early June, and I think I'll be able to take a shot of the show on that day and not have any problems in doing so.
@francoise It was a factory building where they made cigars in the past and it has become known by this name so the current owner kept it.
@rubicon It doesn't now, but it might have when they were rolling cigars here!
Cool PoV too
So nice this is all possible .
Thank you Ann, Kathy, Kerri, Julia, Lisa, Nicole, Sally, Alia, Nicole, Dione, Joan, Leana, Annie, Francoise, Colleen, Lynn, Hazel, Carole, Margaret, Henri, Pyrrhula, Sandy, Kathy, MZ!
