Bird 7

Shot this Cowbird at Aspen Ridge Farm. I'm not a fan of them as the impose their eggs on unsuspecting finches and when the babies hatch the poor "adoptive" parents can't keep everyone fed. But the feathers did look nice in the sun.

Still catching up but getting closer to being on goal!
Nice capture. I like the light on the feathers.

Interesting image. Is that what a cowbird's head looks like? Or does it have its head down in something? I don't think I've ever seen a cowbird before.

You are right, the light on his feathers shows the detail of it very well

Well captured and interesting information about the bird.

@kwind Thank you Kim!
@gilbertwood Thank you Denise!
@joansmor Thank you Joan!
@skstein Thank you Sandy! His head is turned to the right in this picture. He has a dark eye which is in the shadowed part just at the end of his beak.
@grammyn Thanks Katy!
@wendyfrost Thanks Wendy! They also make the most annoying chirping sounds when they're in the trees in my back yard. I do all I can to shoo them away! Crazy me!!

Pretty color, definitely, but doesn't sound like a nice bird!

@taffy Thanks Taffy! No they're not. Most bird watchers (or birders as they prefer so I'm told) hate them.

@olivetreeann now that you mention it, I see it so clearly. I must have been in Lala Land when I first looked and my eye was so drawn to what I now see is a patch of sky above its head that I missed the actual head. Oh silly me.

I like how you captured it's head as so different than it's body.
