Shot this Cowbird at Aspen Ridge Farm. I'm not a fan of them as the impose their eggs on unsuspecting finches and when the babies hatch the poor "adoptive" parents can't keep everyone fed. But the feathers did look nice in the sun.
Still catching up but getting closer to being on goal!
Interesting image. Is that what a cowbird's head looks like? Or does it have its head down in something? I don't think I've ever seen a cowbird before.
@kwind Thank you Kim! @gilbertwood Thank you Denise! @joansmor Thank you Joan! @skstein Thank you Sandy! His head is turned to the right in this picture. He has a dark eye which is in the shadowed part just at the end of his beak. @grammyn Thanks Katy! @wendyfrost Thanks Wendy! They also make the most annoying chirping sounds when they're in the trees in my back yard. I do all I can to shoo them away! Crazy me!!
@olivetreeann now that you mention it, I see it so clearly. I must have been in Lala Land when I first looked and my eye was so drawn to what I now see is a patch of sky above its head that I missed the actual head. Oh silly me.
@gilbertwood Thank you Denise!
